The story of a Cree woman torn from her family as a child and sent to residential school, who would serve as a code talker during the second world war and finally one day speak truth to power at the vatican.
A TV series of the film premieres Sept 20 2023 on CBC and APTN, with a Cree language version dropping the 25th on APTN.

During the interview she told us about this amazing experimental film she co-directed with Kathleen Hepburn that involved almost no edits, was shot on 16mm film and dealt with a few hours in the life of two indigenous woman.

Strange Brew is based on the SCTV skit The Great White North created by Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas. The Great White North featured the two as typical Canadian brothers; complete with toques, beer and backbone eh.
