Did we like this groovy film?
Only way to find out its to not touch that dial.
Also the heavy metal horror film Kris is thinking of is 1986's Trick or Treat which has both Ozzy Osbourn and Gene Simmons.

Romanian New Wave: Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World (2023)
Thursday Apr 25, 2024
Thursday Apr 25, 2024
This week's show is a special one, as It's our first time getting to review a film via an advanced screener and boy was this a fun flick.
The latest film from Berlin Film Festivals Silver Bear winner Radu Jude (Aferim! (Bravo!) and Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn) Do Not Expect Too Much From The End Of The World takes a fierce and darkly comic swipe at modern day life.
Overworked and underpaid production assistant Angela (Ilinca Manolache) is assigned to film a workplace safety video for a multinational corporation in Bucharest.
When one of the interviewees makes a statement that ignites a scandal, Angela has to re-invent the story. Featuring appearances from Nina Hoss, Uwe Boll, and Angela’s TikTok alter-ego Bobiță, Jude’s anarchic satire is a wild and unforgettable ride through the vulgar indignities of the 21st century.
The film was awarded the Special Jury Award at Locarno Film Festival and will stream exclusively on MUBI in Canada from May 3, 2024.
So tune in and hear our thoughts on this example of Romanian New Wave cinema and then head to Mubi for May 3 to check it out for yourself.
As always

If You Drank Bourbon with Me Naked: Leaving Las Vegas (1995)
Friday Apr 12, 2024
Friday Apr 12, 2024
On this week's show we are talking about the peak grimey nineties film that unCaged Nick and showed that Elisabeth Shue could handle big bad dramatic roles; were talking Leaving Las Vegas.
A film somehow dirtier and grittier than sin city itself. Shot on 16mm and edited with jump cuts reminiscent of Godard's Breathless, we are going on a neon noir trip into the lives of a drunk and a hooker with a heart of gold.
Nominated for four Academy Awards, Did it stand the test of time?

On this week's' episode we are talking the direct to steaming (mostly) release of Doug Liman's ( Swingers, The Bourne Identity) remake of the cult classic Road House. Switching out Jake Gyllenhaal for the late great Patrick Swayze and sans throat rips we have to decide where the latest film stands. Is it better? Worse? and did Ford sponsor the original film?

Not since we touched on the 2023 Best Original Song winner RRR (which we highly recommend) have we talked about Indian film.
India is the largest producer of cinema outside of Hollywood, so that's a huge oversight on our part. So, as they say go big or go home without further ado we bring you Animal; one of the longest Indian films ever made.
